Company history
Johnnyvdj.com was created in 1993 by DJ Johnny V along with a group of friends in Athen's, Ohio. These Ohio University students came from all walks of life. The one thing that united them was music, particularly dance music. They promoted a very succesful weekly Thursday Night at the Dugout continously for four years. Artists they worked with include Digital Undarground, De La Soul, Gavin Hardkiss, Faust & Shortee, Alexi Delano, Dan Curtin, J.Goodwill, Doug Martin, Tintonton, Dj Jordan, 7-up, and Sleppy C. Universal Groove produced many memorable special events big and small, including Synthesis, a 500 person event and the infamous 8 Playa's Balls, costume events at several venues in Athen's and Canton . In 1997 Johnny V brought Johnnyvdj.com to Canton and along with the Lovethang Dj's presented cutting edge dance music at several succesful weeklies such as Tuesday's at Pal Joey's and Sunday and Thursdays at BB McLain's. Since then Johnny V has been working as a full time DJ for over a 10 years producing various events from art gallery openings, fashion shows and fundraisers to birthdays, retirements and weddings.
