DJ Johnny Valantasis
Johnny V gained interest in being a DJ while attending Ohio University, but his love of music started long before that. As early as he can remember music and dance was part of his life. As soon as he was able to put a record on a turntable he did with old Disney 78's on his family's big console stereo. In the late 70's and early 80's Johnny's taste in music turned to more underground sounds, and what he couldn't find at the local record store he would mail order from either coast. His collection and tastes in music grew over the years, and when he arrived in Athens in 1993 that passion for music soon found an outlet. Joining ACRN, one of the few student run commercial radio stations in the country, led him to become a DJ and learn how to effectively use the microphone. As the Public Relations Director he was part of a team that earned being nominated Station of the Year for four consecutive years. During his years at Ohio University, Johnny studied the art of recording and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science Audio Production. More importantly the friendships and community he became part of fueled his passion for dance music, and soon he was performing and producing some of the most successful events throughout Ohio. For the next 10 years he continuously hosted a weekly dance night at various nightclubs and still continues to DJ full time 17 years after his first party.
Presently, Johnny is a single father of two beautiful girls. He has shifted during the weekdays to a more traditional job, but much of his extra time is still filled with DJ events. Johnny V provides services to people throwing a variety of events. Although he mostly works with brides, Johnny takes personal care to ensure all events of all sizes are well planned with the mail mission of making that event unforgettable for all!
